The Foundation’s Children’s Choir First Collaboration with the Malta Youth Orchestra
On Tuesday 20 December 2022, the St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation Children’s Choir performed “Carols at St John’s’” in their first ever collaboration with the Malta Youth Orchestra under the baton of British conductor Philip Walsh. The choir is under the directorship of soprano Gillian Zammit.
The exhilarating programme included a selection of traditional carols and Christmas works by Britten, Rutter, and Emanuele Galea. Hugo Agius Muscat features as soloist in Franck’s Grand Chœur from Pièce posthumes for organ. The evening came to a grand close with excerpts from Handel’s beloved work, “Messiah”.
The St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation Children’s Choir, is an initiative founded by the Foundation to provide professional training, perform musical numbers, and collaborate with other entities in the music scene.
