Unveiling a New Milestone in the New Museum Project
Another significant milestone was achieved in the development of the New Museum Project. During last night, the installation of trusses for the new Tapestries Chamber, a key component of this phase of the project, was successfully completed.
The project includes nine large trusses measuring 11 meters in width and weighing over 3 tonne each with high-quality galvanized steel and painted with fire retardant intumescent paint, designed in a way to take all the plant and equipment. Furthermore, the trusses will be the foundation of the ceiling that will roof the Tapestries Chamber.
Important to note that the high precision engineering and competence coordination was required to safely position and secure these large trusses in place. Other structural elements will be installed surrounding these main trusses.
The efficacious installation of trusses signifies progress and momentum as we continue advancing with the development of this landmark institution. This phase is a testament of the dedication and expertise of our project partners. We are grateful for their hard work and commitment to excellence throughout this process.
A special mention for last night’s coordination goes to The Malta Police Force, Lands Authority, Valletta Local Council, Office of the Prime Minister, AX Group, EM Architects and AP Valletta.
